In this artwork, I employ a unique blend of history and artistry by incorporating fragments of an old peso, infusing the colors reminiscent of the Mayan traditions, and featuring a central piece of the Mayan calendar. The aged peso fragments symbolize the passage of time, grounding the mandala in a tangible connection to history. The vibrant hues drawn from the Mayan palette—earthy terracottas, rich jade greens, and deep blues—pay homage to the natural surroundings that influenced Mayan art. The central piece becomes a visual anchor, inviting viewers to delve into the ancient wisdom and profound cosmology of the Mayan civilization.
