In this artwork, I employ a unique blend of history and artistry by incorporating fragments of an old peso, infusing the colors reminiscent of the Mayan traditions, and featuring a central piece of the Mayan calendar. The aged peso fragments symbolize the passage of time, grounding the mandala in a tangible connection to history. The vibrant hues drawn from the Mayan palette—earthy terracottas, rich jade greens, and deep blues—pay homage to the natural surroundings that influenced Mayan art.
