The Color Belu - Original

First Edition Available to Collect

This piece was inspired by the wild, unfiltered spirit of the performer at its center. Belu has a way of moving that feels fearless, imaginative, and just a little bizarre in the most beautiful way. I was drawn to her because she embodies the tension between vulnerability and power, softness and rebellion.

In the moment these images were taken, she was playing in the ocean with a simple wet cloth, letting it challenge her, cover her, and wrap around her as she moved. What emerged wasn’t just performance it was emotion. There’s a sense of surrender, curiosity, and quiet resilience woven into her gestures. You can feel her allowing the elements to overpower her, yet still rising through them with grace.

The mandala form captures that emotional cycle: the ebb and flow, the inner strength, the layered complexity we all hold. With its cool palette of blues and whites grounded by warm skin tones, the artwork carries the calm of water, the depth of introspection, and the spark of human spirit.

It’s a piece about embracing what overwhelms us, transforming it, and finding beauty in the process.
